Children’s Beach House wishes to thank the donors, friends, and supporters who made Delaware’s biggest philanthropic giving day a big success for the organization! The 24-hour event, held March 6–7, raised over $2.5 million for nonprofits across the state. Individual donations were supplemented by several “stretch pools” (extra funds provided by sponsors) that nonprofits could compete for during various hourly challenges.
CBH set a DoMore24 fundraising goal to support the Youth Development Program — CBH’s statewide program for under-resourced children and youth with communicative disabilities. YDP participants ages 7–12 attend overnight weekend and summer camps where they are exposed to new cultural opportunities and build positive relationships with peers and adults. Wrap-around services for these children and their families are provided by CBH Family Engagement Coordinators, who visit homes and schools monthly to support their growth and facilitate continuity of care across a child’s different spheres of life.
With a goal of $5,000, over 50 CBH supporters rallied to surpass the mark! CBH also was awarded a $250 bonus from one of the stretch pool challenges.
Thank you to everyone who donated at all hours of the night, and to those who spread the word to their friends. Our kids will have a very enriching summer, thanks to you!
