April is National Volunteer Appreciation Month, and at Children’s Beach House, we are beyond grateful for the incredible individuals who dedicate their time and talents to making a difference in the lives of our kids.
There are so many ways to show up in support of CBH kids and families. Some of our volunteers prefer “front line” roles where they get to interact with kids in big and small ways: Dr. Claire Weisz has been a fixture in our summer camps for the past two years. Her experience in aquatic recreation has made her a valuable partner in the life-saving swim lessons our campers get every day in our pool. Volunteers with Read Aloud Delaware make regular visits to the Child Development Center to sit with our students individually or in small groups and help them develop emerging literacy skills.
Other volunteers prefer a more “behind the scenes” approach. Whether it’s clearing brush from our challenge course, sitting on one of our fundraising event committees, or answering the phones and the front door in the late afternoon, every contribution makes Children’s Beach House the beautiful and supportive center of love that it is.
This month, we celebrate and thank our volunteers for being the heart of our mission. We couldn’t do it without you!
